It is normal when you begin a workout program to feel a
little disappointed in the beginning because you can’t keep up with the
chiseled bodies in the video, you have to stop frequently or you have to do a
modified version of each exercise. You go into this thing excited to get your
life back and ready to go. Then, the excitement wears off and can turn into
jealousy if you let it.
Be careful not to envy those you see making strides, those
who are proud of their accomplishments and those who are seeing results. Those
women have been in your shoes. They pressed play on day one, some ended their
workout in tears, and some feeling defeated. The difference between those women
who are sharing their results and those who let self-doubt rule their life… The
winners didn’t believe the lies. They kept going through the tears, every day,
even when they didn’t want to. Some of those women didn’t get the results they
were expecting right away. But they kept going, they kept pressing play, and
they called those lies in the back of their mind what they were… LIES!
There WILL be days when you don’t want to keep going. Don’t
give up. Trust the process. This is not a fad diet or a potion that makes you
poop all your fat away. Your body is starving for NUTRIENTS. Not just any ‘ol
thing that will fill your belly. Nutrients that will feed you at a cellular
level. That is how your body works. It begins in each and every cell in your
body. When your cells are happy your tissues are happy, when your tissues are
happy your organs are happy, when your organs are happy your body systems are
happy, when your body systems are happy every is running as it should and you
have the energy to push through a workout.
You WILL get stronger every day. You might have to stop
often in the beginning and march in place until you get the energy to get back
into the moves. That is OK, just keep moving! Prove to yourself that those lies
were wrong and have been wrong the whole time! Aren’t you curious to see what
your body is capable of?
