I’ve been reading this book, “The Battle Plan for Prayer”
for a while. I just read a little each day but I have really been trying to
focus on every word and apply it to my life because I think this is so
important. Prayer changes things and it has completely changed my life and my
family. No one can convince me otherwise.
Part of a prayer at the end of this chapter I’m reading
says, “Pour love, joy, and peace through me and toward others”.
This is something I’ve been praying for this week. My goals
aren’t to try and sell Beachbody products. My goals are to share my experience
with others and help women see their potential and to realize that when we get
God involved, ALL things are possible and your world will be flipped right side
up (I say right side up because prior to me realizing this my world was already
upside down).
This author prayed this prayer after reading Galatians
5:22, talking about the fruits of the Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control”.
I love this because it is so similar to what I was reading
a month ago in 2 Peter 1:3-11.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a
godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and
goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that
through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped
the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to
add to your faith goodness; and to goodness knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control;
and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to
godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess
these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective
and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever
does not have them is near sighted and blind, forgetting that they have been
cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm
your calling and election. For if you do these things you will never stumble”.
Wouldn’t it be great if when you had conversations with
people they felt the love, joy and peace of Jesus? And wouldn’t it be great to
feel effective and productive? And wouldn’t it be great to have confirmed your
calling and KNOW that what you are doing with your life in this moment is what
you were meant to do? And wouldn’t it be great to not fail or stumble while
doing that thing?
Here’s your GPS. Jesus is the answer. Prayer changes things
you thought couldn’t be changed.
