Sick of Being Ineffective and Unproductive?

Ok you guys, I’ve been reading these verses every morning for the past month. One of the things I have struggled my whole life with is being consistent. I’ve been praying specifically for a consistent routine for my life. When I have a good routine my whole life runs more smoothly. When I read them I was like, “YES, THIS is what I’ve been missing! THIS is my issue. If I can work on these things I know I will remain consistent!”

"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is near sighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things you will never stumble" (2 Peter 1:3-11).

Those are some pretty awesome promises! I know that I have been ineffective and unproductive for far too long! Write these down and put them somewhere so you will remember what to work on...

Faith> goodness> knowledge> self-control> perseverance> godliness> mutual affection> love.

Note that the verse says to add these things to your faith meaning you must FIRST have faith. If you don’t know where to start send me a private message!

I have been setting my alarm for 4:30 AM every morning to workout, shower and pray/study. This is testing my knowledge, self-control and perseverance for sure!! I have never been a morning person but this is changing me! I now love this quiet time before my family wakes up. I can get so much accomplished before 6:30 AM when most people are just waking up. I have tried to wake up early in the past and pray or read and I fall asleep every time. When I work out first thing, then shower; my blood is pumping to my brain, I’m alert, focused and ready to go! It has been the perfect combo for me.
